Am I failure? I told myself I would blog everyday. However, circumstances I feel did not help. I am not a victim. I am just frustrated. The day I started blogging, my husband was out on a hunting trip for 4 days. I had no worries about disturbing anyone. I was free to venture. Our PC resides next to our bed. We live in a small dwelling. I had once owned a laptop but it crashed on me and I have yet the time or funds to fix it. The next morning I was typing away at the keyboard. My husband did not look kindly upon this, and I don't blame him. I get up earlier than he does. He simply wanted to sleep. I explained what I was doing it for, and he was a little more supportive of it. But it still keeps me from blogging in the mornings.
I do not want to give this up. I feel I have given up a lot of myself these past 5 years. Things I like to do, I am no longer doing. My routines are no longer mine. I don't co-parent very well. But am trying. I don't take time or spend money on myself. I work a job I don't like. I am in my mid-30's and feel 60 sometimes. I am determined to keep this up. I cannot and will not give up everything.
So, am I failure? No. I don't think anyone is. We all go through life with expectations. Some of us are harder on ourselves than others. So, when these expectations don't go as plan we deem ourselves as failures. NO! I say. I am not a failure, YOU are not a failure. These are stumbling blocks. If you keep faith in your heart, with a higher being, you will get through these things. I have my faith in God. Believe me, without Him, I do not think I would be on this earth today. I will one day blog about my past and you may see what having faith in higher being will do for someone.

Raw Diet Detox by Natalia Rose
Here is my personal review on The Raw Diet Detox by Natalia Rose. First off I was taken back by the beautiful cover. It was deliciously vibrant. I turned the book over to see this beautiful women who is the author of this book. I am thinking, "I want to look like that." So, I was quite eager to get started. Natalia has a wonderful way of writing. She gets right to the point and no holds barred. It's as if she is directly speaking to you. I was intrigued from the beginning to the end. I finished this book in one night. Here plan is easy and simple. She has implemented 5 steps. It is a gradual progress. If you are already a vegetarian or vegan, then you may have most of these items in your house. However, for the rest of us, be prepared to make a lot of lists.
Natalia gives you a seven day meal plan that you can choose to stay on until you feel ready for the next step. She gives you a test to see what step you may already be at, when you feel ready, you progress to the next level. 5 being lowest, 1 been the highest. Real easy. She has tons of recipes in the back of the book. Which are very delicious! I would love to keep working at this diet, however, after making lists of everything my level requires for the meal plan, my budget won't allow it. She STRONGLY urges you to drink Green Lemonade everyday. I love this stuff and it makes you feel great. But alas, I cannot afford to purchase all the ingredients it requires to drink this once to twice a day. If you have the monetary means to be on this diet, I strongly urge you to give this a try. It is easy and yummy. You will never feel deprived.
Once again, Natalia Rose is a beautiful author who writes for the people who are trying to make a change in their health. She has other books out there, that I am looking forward to reading soon.

Running Late
Alas, it is Tuesday morning and I woke up late. I often find myself asking, "Is this the life I am supposed to be living?" Working hard for the boss, just to wake up late, come home late and do it all over again? No. I know there is something more out there. But before I can start working on my new venture full-time, I need to get myself well enough to do it. I had been writing about the Kinoki Detox pads. But those were just the beginning of many new things to try. I came across some wonderful books that brought a lot of insight to getting myself healthier. I will list a few for starts but will not go into deep detail on them at this point because of the simple fact that I do need to get ready for my J-O-B.
This book The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose, is what I recommend first. It is full of information that will not drastically change your life. Simple and easy to read.
Then there is Detox for Life-Bottom Line, it's Your Colon or Your Life by Loree Taylor Jordan. Very informative. Her methods are a bit more than I can apply at this point in time. But I am most certainly going to do them when I can get my life more on track. Very funny author and fun to read.

Kinoki Pads
Monday morning 5:05 am. I had made a commitment to myself that I would blog everyday. I believe in setting good habits. I am hoping to start making a change in my life and to help others along my journey. If you are remotely like me, you don't like getting up M-F in the am to go work for the man. Just to pay someone else to raise your kid and be too physically worn out to enjoy your days off. I am tired. Tired of where I am in my life. I am an intelligent person. Circumstance has brought me where I am today. I have responsibilities. But I want change.
Before I can make a change in my life, I have to stay with the security of my job. (Especially in today's economy.) Baby steps is what I have been aiming for. I need to get physically well before I can make any major changes. And that is where I come to giving you some insight of what I have found. Like I previously mentioned, I didn't want to go in for surgeries. I don't like the knowledge of going under the knife, with no guarantees and major bills to pay on top of that. I knew that if our great-great-ancestors survived without all of these modern necessities, how come we can't? We are an impatient generation. Wanting quick fixes. Told that this is the way it is. Sure, they get rid of the pain. Temporarily. Our body was designed to take care of itself, if we take care of it. I ancestors didn't go to McD's after work. Get a prescriptions for IBS, or Ritlin for "ADHD" children. These things didn't exist and yet they lived productive lives. Why? Because our bodies were not made to survive on what we put in it. But I am lazy. And didn't want to readily give up on my modernized way of life. So I started looking for the simple solutions.
I believe the first thing I came across was the Kinoki Pads. You know the ones, "as seen on TV". I did do my research on them and there is a lot of give and take on those. Some say they don't work and some say yes. For me, it is all a matter of personal opinion. No, I didn't detox my body the way the ad promises, but I did sleep better and felt more rejuvenated in the morning. So are they worth it? Well, is sound sleep worth it? I'd say yes. If you choose to do your research on them, just bare in mind that those are personal opinions you come across. Everyone is different. Do I believe everything I read? No. That's why I like to form my own personal opinion and encourage you to do the same.

On the road to a healthier me!
About 5 years ago I looked in the mirror and saw time had caught up with me. Granted I am only in my mid-30's, but time isn't prejudice. I had just recently relocated my residence and was busy setting up new house and home. I just had a baby and was looking for work. So much for spending time on myself. I began to get migraines. Occasionally, monthly, weekly to almost daily. Life was harsh. I had began to search for alternatives to getting rid of these headaches, among other things. My skin was heading south, I began to gain weight, I was fatigued and getting sick all the time. Dry skin and yeast infections where never ending battles. My poor family was walking on eggshells around me. What had happened to me? This isn't the person I had visioned myself to be. I had gone to my doctor occasionally to get my checkups and was told I was in good health. Huh? If this is good health, I didn't want to see bad. I guess I could have been diagnosed with cancer, that was the bright side. But I didn't want to live my life this way.
I believe we all come to a breaking point in our lives, where we finally say enough is enough. We either go left or go right. It was a beautiful sunny day in Puget Sound. I was running errands with my son, fighting off another migraine when my left arm went numb, then my face. I had called my husband scared out of my wits. Was I having a stroke? Taking no chances I headed to the ER. My in-laws came to help with my son and stayed to make sure everything was all right. After waiting a couple of hours I was finally being seen by a doctor. He did his routine exam and sent me in for cat scan. They found nothing wrong with my results and sent me home with a prescription for pain killers. So there I was, still suffering from that migraine and with a hefty medical bill to boot. Life was not getting easier.
I had began to research cures for migraines and other ailments I had been suffering. Western medical society says to have surgeries. No guarantee of results and may have to continue with repetitive surgeries. Um....NO! That was not the answer I was looking for. My father is an avid chiropractor patient. I had seen this man work hard labor well into his 60's and is still going strong. He also is a supplement taker. I figured I would try the chiropractor. This doctor found twisted vertebrae in my neck and early onset of arthritis. I began seeing him weekly, every two weeks....now I am seeing him once every 3 weeks for adjustments. The headaches began to subside. I found a couple days where I was waking up without a pounding on the right side of my head. I was grateful to this man. I began recommending chiropractor care to all of my co-workers. My migraines had disrupted my life. I had missed out on my son's second birthday and an Easter celebration. But now life was becoming bearable again. I had began to see the light. Alternative health care was the thing for me. And so I began deeper researching for my other ailments.
